There were reasons that the Isle had been bound to have no magic. But more and more things had been letting bits of magic inside the dome. And little by little the villains there had been finding and hoarding that magic. Maleficent and her Dragon Eye scepter, Cruella, Jafar, and EQ finding the catacombs, Uma and the necklace and trident... Even some of the others were finding this new energy, like the foundation of the dark net now that some small amount of Wifi was trickling in.
But the concern at the moment was that Ursula had managed a horrid new spell. Not that anyone knew yet that it was her. Or what had really happened.
Just, one minute the VKs, including Jordan were chilling out on the quad at Auderon, Maleficent was imprisoned, life was more or less good, and then suddenly....
-------------
For Aladdin... well... he was dragged back from who he had become to who he once was, sure as Jafar showing Ali's secrets, except this time Aladdin's memories were reverted, not just his wardrobe. So one moment Abu was helping him escape and then...
This... was not the palace. This wasn't even Agrabah. For one thing it was way too humid. The air was downright damp. For another, even the worst areas of Agrabah looked clean and in good repair compared to this place. There were buildings shoved together as though they were fighting for space. The palace was gone but... there was a castle of a different sort behind him. Dark stone that seemed almost... glowing. The crenulations were pointed at the peaks rather than flat. It had far more arrow slits than windows and there was something dark and... off... about it. Also, while there were chips and dings here and there and the occasional missing brick, it was in better repair than the buildings huddled everywhere else, and it was the only set of surfaces not covered in graffiti.
Across from the castle, the direction he would have been facing when he arrived was a ramshackle stone hut of a building. One badly broken side was covered in a beautiful bit of graffiti that no one seemed to have dared to paint over.
The main sign on the building, which was vandalized, read "The Slop Shop" and as there was a huge chunk of wall missing - hard to tell if it was by design and meant to be a door or window or if it was by decay - he could see weird creatures, Maleficent's goblins, serving rotten looking food and foul smelling drinks to the ragtag group inside. None of whom looked like an easy mark. The other buildings around were even worse.
Two figures were hiding in the shadow of the building, having a whispered conversation that would carry, as all conversations people try to keep quiet tend to. One was in black, white, and red leather with white hair that showed black roots. The other was in a sleeveless leather jacket in many colors, his long dark hair pouring out from under a beanie.
"We can't be back here? Why are we back here?" the black and white boy, who was clearly younger, whispered, voice cracking in panic.
"Calm down. We'll figure it out. And how to get back...." the long haired one trailed off, seeing Aladdin. "What is Aziz doing here?" he hissed.
"What are any of us doing here?" the first one shot back.
"Shut up. We have to get him off the streets before dad sees him, c'mon." He pushed off from the wall and headed right for Aladdin.

Wha -- where are we? What just happened?
[But of course, Abu has no more idea than he does and the monkey gives a shrug. Aladdin tilts his head at the graffiti, before he picks up on the conversation some. Aziz? Who was that? Wait, they were coming over to him? They think he's this Aziz guy? Aladdin isn't sure whether to stay put or flee.
Naturally, instinct takes over and even if he is decidedly unfamiliar with this place, he decides to flee, figuring this is probably going to be trouble. So he turns, trying to make a run for it.]

Date: 2019-05-27 08:12 am (UTC)"Got that," Jay snarled giving chase. "But whoever he is ran for a reason. Find out who else is here. Meet at Dragon Hall."
The smaller boy nodded gasping a bit from trying to keep up. He broke off and ran the other way.
Jay, the long haired boy grinned... and ran right at a wall, leaping at the last moment to hit it with his feet and spring off in front of Aladdin. "Gotta say, you nailed the look, almost," he said, smugly, crossing his arms. "But being stupid enough to run from me? Who are you and why do you look like Aziz?" He looked like he might be about to try and punch Aladdin if he didn't like the answer.

Not that he had even been aware Jasmine was the princess when he met her and stopped her getting her hand chopped off, but still. Aladdin pauses on the roof with Jay, raising his arms in a surrender type pose, as Abu seemingly protests with him. If Jay can even understand monkey, that is.]

Date: 2019-05-27 09:16 am (UTC)"Who is Mal? Who are you and what's going on?"
Because each time the other says something it only raises more questions. A lot more.
"Also, what were those?"
Not that he wants to steal the phones, necessarily but he's never seen anything like it.

Date: 2019-05-27 09:28 am (UTC)"Give me that, and if you tell anyone you saw us, I'll make sure Mal knows who squealed," he said to someone inside. There was a hissing sound, then he dropped back down, his shirt now quickly marked up with black spray paint. He was holding up a watch with a smirk before pocketing it. "That'll do till I can get a better vest or something. Come on, we have to find the others."

Date: 2019-05-27 09:39 am (UTC)Aladdin finally, reluctantly, agrees. Then keeping quiet but for a questioning raised eyebrow again as the other gets someone to help him disguise the clothes. For whatever reason that was. Obviously he isn't going to get an explanation yet. Abu seems more impatient in comparison, more cautious and wary, especially when he mentions others.
"Others who? Where are we going?"
And he can't help staring curiously at the watch, his head tilting slightly as his eyes narrow a little more.

Date: 2019-05-28 06:07 am (UTC)Aladdin asks in spite of himself, in spite of knowing the other had offered to explain things later when they were in private. Or, at least, more private than the streets. He just can't help it, given how overwhelming this is. The other pocketing the fruit is familiar, but only because he survived the streets of Agrabah by doing the same. Still, the fruit wasn't in the best condition, though Aladdin couldn't really complain. One couldn't afford to be picky when one lived on the streets after all. He figures it'd be fine if he just eats around the bug bitten parts. Or, fine enough. He eats, and offers some to Abu if he wants any.

Date: 2019-05-28 06:39 am (UTC)Someone nearly stumbled into their path, saw Jay and paled, his eyes going wide. He started stammering out something and Jay pushed him a side. He RAN.
And then from around the corner came a girl. The Prettiest person he would have seen so far here, though there was some mud rubbed into her blue leather dress here and there. That seemed almost.. artful somehow. but what really stood out wasn't the dress, or the spiked heels she wore, or even her beauty and perfect makeup. It was the blue hair that fell past her shoulders, with a braid design on the top that looked almost like a crown before falling loose below the ears. She saw them and instead of fleeing like everyone else, walked over and fell into step.
"I'd ask if you knew you were being followed, but he's wearing your vest," she murmured. "Who is he?"
"Later. We need to get off the streets. Got any clue where?"
She looked at a scarf they were passing, trailing her fingers over it. As they kept walking, the scarf, snagged on her nail, went with them. She wrapped it around her neck. She was as much a thief as Jay, and both seemed to swipe more than just for food. "We didn't even know the building had a basement. Just remember the woman who lives there has two voices."
He nodded. "Good idea. You're not coming with us?"
"Need to find Mal and Carlos first."
"Where else would Carlos be? He went to school."
She looked startled a moment, then relieved. It softened the hard features of her face from cold beauty to a gentle one. Then she made her face hard again. "Dork that he is," she said with a cold laugh. "Well some of us have to get the gang back together. Want me to pick you up anything while I'm out?"
Jay leaned close like he was nibbling at her ear, but Aladdin was close enough to see he was speaking, and to JUST make out the whispered words. "He's from Auradon. But... from before Auradon. There might be others here. Look for anyone who stands out."
She blinked then nodded. She danced back towards Aladdin and gave him a quick peck on the cheek as an excuse to whisper "Mal will get this all sorted. We'll get you home soon. Trust Jay, lay low." Then she waggled her fingers at them and sashayed off.
Jay glanced at him and took a turn. "Don't suppose you're any good at Parkour?"

Date: 2019-05-28 06:51 am (UTC)"So we just have to find this 'Mal' person, right? I'm not sure what you mean by parkour either."
But well. When it comes to it, Aladdin should have no problems about doing so. Given he was used to getting around Agrabah and running from the guards, mostly on the rooftops and such.

Date: 2019-05-28 07:06 am (UTC)Aladdin has got this! He grins, reminding Abu to hold on unless the monkey wants to make his own way up. Then he does the same as Jay, making a run for it before springing up to the next wall and up to the roof. Sure, he's not quite used to this place, but some parts at least seemed familiar enough still. This included. The sneaking around and climbing up buildings to the roofs. Aladdin then grins, giving a nod and gesturing for Jay to keep leading the way. Since the other seems to know where they were going. Wherever that is, exactly. He ensures he has Abu again and that the monkey is -- mostly, hidden too.

Date: 2019-05-28 07:46 am (UTC)There was a long red car out front and the stink of stale cigarettes. Behind the house was a single old scraggly tree with what looks like it might have been a broken down treehouse poorly hidden in the branches. He backed up to Aladdin.
"Whatever we do," he whispered. "We need to not draw the attention of anyone in that house, or that castle," pointing first to the huge house, then to the distant castle. "From here we have to go through the underbrush. Almost no one dares come out this way anymore. So we can't hide in a crowd." Besides, the harriden who lived in that house would know Jay on sight, and if she spotted any of the VKs, they were all doomed. Aladdin included.

Date: 2019-05-28 07:55 am (UTC)He's used enough to trying to blend in or hide, to take the less traveled paths given his background with getting by via stealing what he needs to survive. This wasn't anything new to him, at least. Aladdin could handle that. And Abu was also used to sneaking around, and being quiet when he needed to, when he wasn't being used as a distraction for Aladdin to pinch some food. So he gives a nod, just saying that he would follow the other's lead.

"Who is the fairest of them all?" the voice continued.
Jay rolled his eyes waiting for the other boy.

Date: 2019-05-28 09:11 am (UTC)Jay rolled his eyes, but when the woman screamed in rage he used the cover of that to open the door fully, standing. He nodded for Aladdin to follow and rushed down the hall, light on his feet. The hall was draped in cobwebs and dusty. The walls and floor desperately needed a wash. But after a few more turns they hit a small hidden stair. And that... was a little less dusty. As was the other path that led to it. He headed down the stairs, leaving the woman muttering to herself well behind them.
